The East Ramapo Central School District approved a budget of $231,084,269 that will be submitted to the voters on Tuesday, June 20. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. In her presentation, Dr. Wortham explained how the district had already restored over $14 million of non-mandated items to the public schools and would be adding additional teachers and summer camp for over 1,000 children this year. Non-mandated busing for the private schools, whether through calendar alignment or budget allocations, would not be provided at all as per Commissioner Elia’s instructions (letter attached), meaning the non-public community would continue to have no non-mandated services restored. The district has approximately 8,500 public school students and 26,000 private school students. Additional information may found on the district’s website
