Legislator Paul Organizes Program To Empower Youth
Event Open To All Rockland Youth Runs From 1:30 P.M. to 4 P.M. on Thursday, July 26, In Legislature’s New City Chambers
New City, NY (July 11, 2018) – Rockland County Legislator Aney Paul has organized a free Youth Leadership Workshop from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, in the Legislature’s Chambers, 11 New Hempstead Road in New City.
“It won’t be long before today’s youth grow into the adults who will be leading our society and working to determine solutions to the issues being faced by the world – everything from climate change to caring for older adults to identifying new jobs as automation continues to grow,” Legislator Paul said. “It’s important we help our youth learn how to set priorities and how to take the steps necessary to reach the goals they set.”
The theme of the workshop is “How to Set Goals,” and youth will be taught how to set priorities and how to make the best use of their time and talents to achieve their goals.
The speakers will include Kristin Ruggiero, a 4-H Resources Educator at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland; Ben Chun, President of the Nanuet High School Student Council and this year’s class valedictorian; and Tahinah Lamour, President of the NAACP Spring Valley Youth Council.
The free program is open to all Rockland youth, ages 12 to 18. Snacks will be provided.
