New City, NY (Nov. 28, 2018) – The public is invited to attend two special holiday events that take place Monday.
“It’s more important than ever that we come together as one Rockland community and share in each other’s traditions,” Rockland County Legislature Chairman Toney L. Earl said. “Everyone is invited to attend these events so that, together, we can send a message of unity.”
The Blessing of the Nativity Creche will be held at 4:30 p.m., followed by the singing of Christmas carols. The Rockland County Catholic Coalition has organized the event.
The Lighting of the Menorah will take place at 5 p.m., and include Chanukah refreshments and music. Chabad of Rockland is sponsoring the event, which has been organized by Rabbi Avremel Kotlarsky, regional director of Chabad Lubavitch of Rockland.
The creche and the 15-foot menorah will be located outside the front of the Allison-Parris County Office Building at 11 New Hempstead Road in New City. The ceremonies are open to all.
