New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill will speak at RCC on September 26

RAMAPO – New York City Police Commissioner James O’Neill will hold a public question-and-answer session September 26 at Rockland Community College. The public is invited to take part in this unique opportunity to speak with one of the nation’s top cops.

An expert on policing, O’Neill serves as an RCC adjunct faculty member in the Criminal Justice department.

O’Neill began his career as a patrolman with the New York City Transit Police in 1983, and eventually became a lieutenant. After the Transit Police were merged into the NYPD, O’Neill continued to rise through the ranks, becoming the Chief of Department in 2014. Less than two years later, O’Neill was appointed Commissioner by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
